WINDOW & DOOR TYPES
The first thing to do is decide on the window and door types required and the best location to place them in order to maintain the container strength.
Windows and doors are available in UPVC, Aluminium, Steel or Wood and the type really comes down to both budget and personal preference. If using wood then you also need to consider treatment again termites etc. Our prefence is to use double glazed UPVC units as these reduce the amount of UV entering the container and therefore reduce the overall AC or heating costs.
WINDOWS & DOOR OPENINGS
Once the fitting types have been decided the openings can be cut. All openings should have some form of support framework and strengthening to ensure the structure of the container is not compromised. (See strengthening section)
For internal doors pocket doors can be incorporated to maximise space.
